Growing up disabled, my parents banned the word “can’t” from my vocabulary. They wanted me to be “normal” as much as possible. When I begged to try rollerskating, they finally said “yes.” It didn’t end well as I decided that trying to go down and incline was a good idea. That resulted in a crushed “good” leg.
It was through this that God taught me an important truth. God works everything for good, even what seems bad.
“28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.” The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Ro 8:28–30.
You see, God brought someone to know Him through this that I would not have met otherwise. He also worked in my heart. What a Savior!!
Whatever you are going through, God can make it well, can work it all for good!
