Today, I am thankful for God’s Word. It is alive and fresh each time we read it.
I was reading in Exodus 35 today. It struck me how the people of Israel gave to the building of the tabernacle. They gave of what they had and from the gifts God had given them. The fact that God had also given them their talents was amazing. He had a purpose for the gifts He gave them.
It hit me that these artisans had just been serving on basic, everyday things until God called them to help with the tabernacle. It may have seemed that they weren’t doing anything important. God was using this time to prepare them for this wonderful way to serve.
My heart rejoiced as I read this. Sometimes, it can seem that we have been set aside, every day mundane. Yet, God has a purpose. We keep seeking Him, stewarding what He gives us each day, serving, learning all we can, and waiting. We don’t know what God has in His plans for us. What we do know is that God has a plan!
Today, I am thankful for God’s Word that gives us just what we need. I am thankful that we can trust God in the waiting.
What are you thankful for today?
