Tuesday Tip

Tip for today: Stay the course.

Just before vacation in December, I had big plans for what I would accomplish and what needed to be done.

Life happened. Unexpected health challenges happened.

Everything still needs to be done. Everything (or so it seems) is behind from my timeline. Is anything technically “late”? Nope. It just feels that way. I remind myself, “Stay the course.”

Don’t give up just because things feel behind, feel overwhelming. Keep on keeping on!

A friend and I were talking about how we are already behind on our Bible reading due to sickness that hit us hard enough that we could not read. We are encouraging each other as we work to get caught back up, reminding each other that it is not a race or time-sensitive. We just simply will slowly get caught up by staying the course.

Another dear friend reminded me yesterday that we stay the course by accomplishing one small thing, and then another, and then another. Don’t give up.

Stay the course. Keep your eyes on the goal. Turn your eyes on Jesus and keep on.

In Philippians 3:13-14, Paul says, “13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Press toward the mark. Stay the course.

What do you have on your journey that feels overwhelming? Stay the course. Keep on going, one step at a time, in His strength.
