My sister-in-law gave me a verse jar awhile back with different colors of verses representing various struggles. This is a blessing to have as it helps me counsel my heart as life happens. It makes me think about Jesus and what victory and power we have in Him.
We are walking through Isaiah 9:6 this week, briefly looking at who it says Jesus is. Yesterday, we looked at these verses and the fact that Jesus is wonderful. Today, we simply meditate on Jesus being our Counselor.
“6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
And the government shall be upon his shoulder:
And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,
Upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom,
To order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice
From henceforth even for ever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
Counselor, Jesus is our Counselor. Walking this journey of life, we often need counsel both for our heart and for wisdom. Jesus fulfils so many needs, including that of counselor.
