Daily Dose of Encouragement: Gratefuls – 26

Today, I am grateful for my medical team. Yes, it is a whole team of doctors that help me stay on top of my conditions.

What are you thankful for?

Sometimes, family gatherings can be tense. Sometimes, it is hard to love others who treat us poorly. Yet, Jesus has a different way to respond. He asks us to love our neighbors AND our enemies. (Family is included in that.)

Love them. Bless them. Do good to them. Pray for them.

Matthew 5:43-45

“43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Wow. This is so different from how we feel and what the flesh wants to do. Yet, this is living as Jesus did, walking as He would have us walk each day.

Let’s love those around us as Jesus would this holiday season.
