Monday Meditation

God loves each and every one of us. When the Israelites were walking through the wilderness, God was with them. They were struggling. Everything in their life had changed. Their lives were hard.

What did they do? They cried to the Lord. He delivered them from their distress. Yet, notice that He did not immediately take them to the Promised land. He delivered them from distress and led them to the city of habitation. He provided for them where they were at in the middle of the wilderness.

Oh, sometimes, we want God to immediately resolve all of our problems. Yet, God instead gives us what we need to walk through the trial to the other side, whether that is here on earth or in heaven. He satisfies our longing. He fills our hungry soul.

Selah.

Psalm 107:4-9

4  They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way;
They found no city to dwell in.
5  Hungry and thirsty,
Their soul fainted in them.
6  Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble,
And he delivered them out of their distresses.
7  And he led them forth by the right way,
That they might go to a city of habitation.
8  Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness,
And for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9  For he satisfieth the longing soul,
And filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
