Tuesday Tip

Enjoy God’s Word!

God’s Word is vital to us, especially as we go through difficult times.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

A few weeks ago in our Small Group, we were discussing ways to soak in God’s Word and keep it front and center in our lives. Several thoughts were shared such as journaling as you read, certain devotional apps, podcasts, and the audio Bible. Each person had a different way of keeping God’s Word forefront in their lives.

The important thing is to hide His Word in our hearts.

The past few years, I struggled to find ways to truly take in His Word as I became allergic to paper and struggled more with my hands. I learn best by reading and writing the Word. Slowly, we found ways around the health challenges. I began listening to the Word and trying to read it on my phone. As I grew up on pen and paper, a paper Bible is better for me. The phone apps just are not the same.

God answered prayer. It took quite awhile to find one that I am not allergic to. (And, yes, I never thought that I would be saying that!) A laminator allows me to write out my verses on 3×5 cards with ultra fine point permanent marker. I still listen to the audio Bible throughout the day as it brings my focus back to God.

The method isn’t important, but staying in the Word is vital to our Christian walk. How do you stay in God’s Word? How do you best soak it in, especially on the challenging health days?
