Daily Dose of Encouragement: Writing Scripture On Your Heart

We mentioned that we will be doing “Gratefuls” for November. (That really should be a word, but spell-check says it isn’t.) Let me encourage you one step further. Write praise Scriptures through November.

We know that the holiday season and winter can be a discouraging time. One amazing way to combat that is to focus on gratitude, praising our Savior. This year, for November, what if you kept a journal of your praises each day as well as writing a verse of praise? Yes, if you can physically write these out long-hand, it helps even more. There is just something about writing them out that seals them in your mind and heart more.

Proverbs 7:1-3 talks about writing Scripture on our hearts.

“7 My son, keep my words, And lay up my commandments with thee.
2  Keep my commandments, and live; And my law as the apple of thine eye. 3  Bind them upon thy fingers, Write them upon the table of thine heart.”
The Holy Bible: King James Version, Electronic Edition of the 1900 Authorized Version. (Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 2009), Pr 7.
To assist with this, we will be providing a verse each day in November for you to write out. These verses will help us focus our mind on our great Savior and praise Him. Will you join the challenge of writing “gratefuls” and Scripture each day? Let us know!
