“23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”
Yesterday, we were running late on a trip when we had to take a pit stop. I must admit that the delay was not in my timeline. To top it off, the delay was taking so much longer than we would have imagined.
While I was … ahem… not so patiently waiting, God stepped in to show the real reason for the stop. The clerk at the gas station needed to hear about Jesus. As we were waiting, she started telling her story. She was in the midst of deep waters. I listened and was praying for God to show me what to say to her. God gave words. I had to step away, but my mom came in. She picked up where I had left off in the conversation and was able to encourage the dear girl in the love of Christ.
Our steps were ordered by God, I have no doubt. We stopped in the middle of nowhere at a random gas station. Yet, God had directed our steps. Although I wasn’t at first, in the end, I was delighting in His ways. He does order our steps.
I don’t know what you are going through today, but know that God is directing your steps. We can delight in His way – even if we don’t see it at first.
