Tuesday Tip: Balance

With recent changes, balancing my health has been difficult.

For example, my allergic reactions have been increasing. These reactions are to normal items that are in everything. This means I must wear a mask around germs or allergens due to my mixed up immune system. Now, I am allergic to a chemical in the elastic (as well as a long list of other things). This makes it very difficult to find a mask to which I am not allergic. It has meant once again scrambling to find what I am not allergic to in order to accommodate. This has meant asking God for wisdom and reaching out to those who may be able to help.

It has led me to ask: How do we balance our health with living our best life with what we have? How do we manage our limited strength? What do we spend our resources on?

It makes me realize how much more I need to rely on God in the day to day, how much more my priorities need to be in the right place as my resources are more limited, and how important it is to be a good steward.

I am so thankful that God has promised to give us wisdom in the day to day. As I was contemplating this, these two verses come to mind:

Philippians 4:6

“6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

God wants to help us and will even help us find this balance.

Proverbs 3:5-6

“5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

I don’t know what your particular challenges are in balancing your conditions and life, but I do know this. Our God will help us find that balance. Seek Him. Ask Him. He will help you find your balance and work things out.
