I was reminded this week that as we read Scripture, we need to look for God in it instead of looking for ourselves. It is all about Him. As we do, we will begin to know Him better. We will see His awesomeness and love for us.
For instance, in the account of Jesus feeding the 5,000, we see His provision and power against all odds.
What about when the disciples were on the stormy sea, seemingly destined to drown? Jesus had power over the weather and sea.
Lazarus dies. Jesus weeps. Jesus demonstrates His love and His power over death.
When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were in the fiery furnace, we see Jesus’ power over the leaders of the world, over the earth, over death. Jesus stood with them in the fire.
All throughout Scripture, we see God. Look for Him. Look at who He is and what He can do. It will change your perspective.
