1 Corinthians 6:11, “¹¹ And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

This verse is so encouraging! God says that He changes us when we come to Him. Notice that we are not the ones who do the changing. He is. We come to Him. He changes us. It is a wonderful fact that Jesus changes lives.

Consider these accounts listed in the book Defined that give the old and new people.

1. Woman at the Well – John 4:16-17; John 4:23-26
2. Adulterous Woman – John 8:3-6; John 8:10-11
3. Man with Leprosy – Matthew 8:1-2; ³ And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4. Zacchaeus – Luke 19:1-7; Luke 19:8-10
5. Thomas – John 20:24-25; John 20:27-28
6. Peter – Matthew 26:31-33; Luke 22:31

Jesus changes our very identity. Selah. Amen!

Note: We are loosely following the study Defined, by Priscilla Shirer. Her book goes much more in-depth; I believe it will be encouraging to you. Each week in the study, there are video lessons to watch. I found them on Youtube at this link. The book and study are based on the movie Overcomer which is on Amazon Prime or available at the link.
