Daily Dose of Encouragement: Identity, Part 16

Who are you? Who are you in Christ?

We have been looking at these and other questions as we look into our identity.

Today, we have a very important question for you. Have you decided to follow God’s way, to come to know Him personally? You see, your identity is directly related to your relationship with God. The promises that we will look at are for those who know Him, not just know of Him.

The Bible says that we have all turned away from God and gone our own way. Yet our Lord laid all of our iniquity on Jesus.

Isaiah 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

Romans 3:10

“10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”

Romans 6:23

“23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

The payment for our sin is death meaning separation from God forever. Yet, God gives us the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

John 3:16

“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Romans 10:9-10

“9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Note: In the next few weeks, we will be loosely following the study Definedby Priscilla Shirer. Her book goes much more in-depth; I believe it will be encouraging to you. Each week in the study, there are video lessons to watch. I found them on Youtube at this link. The book and study are based on the movie Overcomer which is on Amazon Prime or available at the link.
