Who are you? Who are you in Christ?

As we go through the book by Shirer, we have seen how God is a God of love, but also a God of wrath, what Shirer calls a danger. He is our designer, making us unique and with a purpose.

We have seen the disconnect between us and God. Today, we see the darkness. What is this darkness? It is who we are without God, when we choose our own way.

Romans 1:21-23,

^“21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

²² Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

²³ And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.”

Think about that. We are in darkness and foolish without God, when we go our own way. The remainder of Romans chapter 1 tells what happens when we go our own way. It is heavy. The consequences of turning from God’s way are severe.

Yet, while God is a God of wrath, He is also a God of love. We don’t have to clean up for His love. He loves us while we are sinners. Christ died and rose again for us.

Romans 5:8-10

^“8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

⁹ Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”

Oh, dear one. What is your identity today? Are you living in the light of walking with God or still turning from Him?

His love not only saves us from eternity separated from God, but also means that we live in the power of Christ day to day. We have life, abundant life, here on earth no matter our circumstances. Wow.
