While it is not always the case, sometimes our loneliness comes when we are feeling separated from God.
Job, who went through so many trials yet praised God, had a point when he felt the loneliness of feeling separated from God. Yet he saw that God was still with him, guiding him and directing him, working in Job’s life.
“8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.”
When we feel as if God has forgotten us, remember that nothing can separate us from His love. (Romans 8:35-39) Do take time to make sure your life and heart are right with Him. (Isaiah 59:2) Then, study His Word, pray, and seek Him. He promises to come near those who draw nigh to Him. (James 4:8)
