This study is loosely based on the study More Like Jesus from Not Consumed.
Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. There’s just something about that Name.
We have been studying Jesus the past six weeks, including His ultimate sacrifice and resurrection around Easter. We have been learning who He is and about becoming more like Him. But what is Jesus doing now?
“12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.”
Read that again. There is so much packed in here.
He is at the right hand of God’s throne. He is waiting for His enemies to be His footstool.
But, look at what He did through His sacrifice! With His offering of His life, He has perfected those who are sanctified, putting His law into their hearts and minds. He won’t remember their iniquities and since as His blood paid the remission for our sins. Wow.
