Daily Dose of Encouragement: By This…

John 13 is hard for me to read. That is honest. It is when we begin to see Jesus talk more of His death and Judas begin his betrayal. It reminds me of what Jesus did for me and my own sin. However, there is also good in this chapter.

In this chapter, we see Jesus wash their feet. He, the God of the universe, washed His disciples’ feet. He goes on to teach them a lesson on how people will know that they are His disciples. It is an important lesson for us today. We who are His followers, His children, should be different. How can they tell?

John 13:34-35

“34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

They can tell that we follow Jesus if we love one another.

As we walk the hard, hard road of isolation, we should show our love for Jesus by loving one another even through the pain.

Selah.
