Faithful Friday

This week, I have been thinking of God’s faithfulness through the years. God carries us through and gives the strength we need. As I encouraged a friend who was experiencing the misery of a condition similar to one of my conditions, they mentioned how difficult it is to deal with and how I must be tough to deal with it all the time. I explained that the strength is all God.

It made me realize that this is just one of the conditions that God has gifted me with. I have many layers of conditions. If God had given them to me all at the same time, it would have been completely overwhelming. It made me pause and thank God for His grace through the valleys. Now, sometimes, my condition has changed suddenly. And, God was there. Sometimes, my conditions have gradually worsened and piled up. And God was there. God is here.

It reminded me of Exodus 13:17 when the Israelites have just left Egypt.

“17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:”

God takes the Israelites the longer way because He knows they are not ready to trust Him through war yet. Oh, what a loving Father, knowing what His children can endure and faithfully guiding their steps. God was able to protect them through war and did many times. Yet, here, He knew that they did not know Him well enough yet to trust Him.

Wow. What a faithful and all-knowing God! He is the same God today and loves us. Trust Him through the wilderness.

How have you seen His faithfulness this week?
