Daily Dose of Encouragement: Ephesians 5:1-2

Winter brings much time to contemplate life.

It hit me recently that as children we think that adults have it all together and know so much. We looked to our parents, teachers, pastors and other role models for how to handle things, not realizing that they are learning as they go as well. For my parents, that meant learning how to parent a disabled child.

We are all just learning as we walk through life. We are learning how to live with chronic illness, caregiving, isolation, and disability. How do we do it?

The Bible gives the answers. God has graciously given us an example to follow.

Ephesians 5:1-2

“5 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”

Doesn’t that take a burden off? We don’t have to know how to do it all. We simply follow God and walk in love. He shows us how to live in this life no matter what comes.
