Daily Dose of Encouragement: Longsuffering, Part 7

Do you feel unworthy of God’s love? Is it because of your past, your disability or your financial status?

Good knews. God loves you. He is long-suffering toward us. Think of the apostle Paul. Before he came to Christ, he was one who persecuted Christians. He did horrible things to them, thinking that he was pleasing God. Yet, God sought him out and brought him to grace. God loved him. (I encourage you to read Acts 9 to get the whole story.)

We think of him as the great apostle who wrote many books of the Bible. He still saw himself as a chief of sinners that Jesus came to save.

1 Timothy 1:15-17

“15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

Jesus was long-suffering toward Paul. Paul says that this was a pattern so that we would believe. He is long-suffering toward you. You see, Jesus loves you and wants you to have a relationship with Him. If you would like to know more about His gift of salvation, please contact us!

What a wonderful truth to remember as we go into our Friday!
