This week, I listened to teaching on suffering, but specifically long-suffering. It made me want to dig in and learn more about what God says about longsuffering. I thought I would bring you along on the journey.
The first time we see “long-suffering” in the Bible is about our Lord.
“5 And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.
6 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.”
Aren’t you glad that the Lord is long-suffering? He is patient with us. Oh, what an amazing God! Behold our long-suffering God!
