Before we look at a great hero of the faith today, I must share a company that has some great Bible study and encouragement resources.

Not Consumed is a company that has Bible studies and encouragement supplies. While they are geared toward families and homeschoolers, they have many adult Bible studies and encouragement studies that would be helpful for anyone. I was amazed at the quality of these products and highly recommend them.

Jonathan Edwards was a preacher whom God used mightily in revival and is known as one of the two fathers of the American Great Awakening. In his first pastorate, he spent 13 hours a day in prayer and Bible reading. His most known sermon is “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.”

He valued prayer. What he said can encourage us in our isolation journey for we can rise up as prayer warriors for God!

• “Resolved, never to count that a prayer, nor to let that pass as a prayer, nor that as a petition of a prayer, which is so made, that I cannot hope that God will answer it; nor that as a confession, which I cannot hope God will accept.“

Oh, dear one, God can use us in prayer for Him, even in our physical weakness and isolation, even in the midst of the tediousness and stress of the isolated, chronically ill, disabled, care-giving life! He longs for us to pray!
