I remember hearing a story once of a bed-ridden quadriplegic. Each morning, she prayed through a prayer list posted above her bed.
Or, there were the two sisters who earnestly prayed daily for God to send revival to their town. God answered.
Or, there is the widow in Mark 12:41-44 who gave her two mites to God, all she had. Jesus said that she gave more than the rich as she gave out of her need, not her abundance.
Or, the boy who gave his small lunch to Jesus in John 6:1-15.
These were faithful servants who used the little that they had to give to God. They did not need riches or things to be satisfied. They were faithful in the little that they had, giving it to Jesus.
“10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
We who are home-bound may seem to have little. However, let’s be faithful in that little. Let’s realize our wealth in the true riches that are the eternal riches and be faithful. Let’s serve our master, God!
