Many years ago as we were walking terminal cancer with my dad, we said various times, “It can’t get any worse.” But it did.
And God walked with us through it. God was there.
We thought it couldn’t get any worse the next time. But it did.
And God walked with us through it. God was there. He carried us.
And, the cycle continued.
And God walked with us through it. God was there. He carried us. He held us, comforted us, provided for us, and was our sufficiency.
Through this, we learned in a new and deeper way that God is faithful no matter what is happening. When things get bad, we remember His care and have confidence in Him. These Scriptures remind us of God taking us through not just the good times, but all of life.
“2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
“27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
“91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”
I don’t know what you are walking through right now, but I do know our God. Run to Him. He will help. He will comfort. He will take care of you!
As my dad would say, “Who wouldn’t love a God like that?”
