Faithful Friday

God’s faithfulness came this week in the form of help at a new doctor’s office.

As many of you know, going to a new doctor can be overwhelming and cause anxiety. I mean, many of us have complicated medical issues which are not simple to address. Will the new doctor listen? Will the new doctor understand the daily fight? Add in a compromised immune system and flu season and you have a recipe for disaster as the waiting rooms can be full of germs.

This week, I went to visit a new specialist after two of my doctors in this specialty retired. Honestly, I was very nervous. When I had called beforehand, the front office staff had not seemed overly open to any alternatives for waiting somewhere other than the waiting room (like the car, etc.). It made me nervous, especially after months of one infection after another. I was trying to trust our God, but nervousness kept creeping in. It didn’t help that I typically get lost every time I go to this appointment as it is on a college campus which can be confusing. GPS has a difficult time pinpointing it.

But, we have a faithful God. He gave wisdom in driving right to the office. The front office staff were amazingly kind and went above and beyond to prevent germs; the medical assistant was delightful. God gave complete peace as I waited for the doctor. God was with me. The young doctor was kind, friendly, professional, and a very good listener. He worked to find solutions as my conditions “fight each other.”

I came away rejoicing. All of you know that doctors like this are hard to find. I have experienced enough of the other kind. God was faithful. He took care of the entire situation! He would still be faithful if the staff had not been so helpful. His faithfulness was shown in the way He calmed me, His child. We have such a faithful God.
