“7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”
I love this verse.
Two things jump out at me.
- Don’t judge by outward appearance.
- God doesn’t judge you by outward appearance, but our countenance or height. I see this as by our weakness, size, shape, or physical ability. He judges by our heart. Doesn’t that make you rejoice? We are weak, disabled, and, in my case, short. Yet, God is looking on my heart, not on the outward appearance.
Our God still has a purpose for us to do if our hearts are tuned to His!
