Living with chronic illness is difficult. There is uncertainty, pain, disappointment, and loneliness.
This past week, I was going to a new doctor. It is always a bit anxiety inducing when I go to someone new. My conditions are complex and don’t have one nice, neat diagnosis. I honestly didn’t want to go. Couldn’t I skip this appointment?
Then, it hit me. God has me at this time and place as part of His plan. God had a purpose for my going to that appointment both to work in my life and to possibly bring Him glory and to give hope to others there.
Through our suffering, we can learn more of Christ’s suffering for us. We can draw closer to Him. We use His strength in our weakness rather than relying on ourselves. Listen to what the apostle Paul said.
“10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”
I don’t know what you are facing, but God does. He has a plan. He will turn it for His glory and our best good.
