Do you ever feel too broken (physically, mentally, emotionally or from your past) to be used of God?
God uses broken things. As it says in Isaiah 61:3, he brings beauty for ashes. In fact, the Psalmist tells us that God will not despise a broken and contrite heart. The sacrifices we make are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart.
Psalm 51:17
“17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”
God can use broken.
I love sunflowers and have a flower bed along the house filled with them. One of them had toppled over, “face” first in the dirt, unable to hold it’s own weight. It’s beauty was covered by dirt. One may think that it had no further purpose as it was so broken. Yet, my brother found it before mowing the lawn and brought it in. Look at the beauty.

I have good news. God takes our broken and makes something beautiful.
“3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”
