In our stroll through the Love One Another passages, we come to 1 Peter.
“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:”
“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:”
What type of love do we have for each other? Unfeigned. Undisquised. Sincere. Where does this love come from? having purified our souls by obeying the truth. We must love each other with a pure heart. Pure and fervent love for one another is the standard. Fervently loving one another means intently loving one another. Do you see this that we must be intentionally working to have this love for one another?
Peter ends with the instruction to all be of one mind in having compassion for one another, loving one another as family. We are to be pitiful (compassionate) and courteous (kind, friendly).
Let’s go out and spread the love of Jesus by loving one another!
