Daily Dose of Encouragement: Hebrews 11:32-40, Part 5

What a walk through Hebrews 11 it has been! Has your faith been challenged as mine has?

We have been focusing on Hebrews 11:32-40 which we finish today in verses 39-40.

“39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”

These faithful people did not see Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of the promise, come. Yet, they had a good report of faith.

God has allowed us to know that Jesus Christ has come and to believe; a better thing. They looked forward to His coming in faith. We look back on His birth, life, death, and resurrection in faith. The link for “be made perfect” explains that it is used here to show that something is accomplished.

God did not complete the plan in their time. We are a part of His plan as well. We have the opportunity with God’s faithfulness to be faithful. Oh, may we be faithful as well!

Faith in a faithful God.
