Daily Dose of Encouragement: Hebrews 11:32-40, Part 2

Yesterday, we read Hebrews 11:32-40 to see the amazing lives of those who had faith in God.

Hebrews 11:32-33

“32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.”

These are amazing men of faith. Did you notice that there is not even room to tell of all the faithful in this Hall of Faith. I don’t know about you, but I am hoping that one day my name will be added to the Hall of Faith. 🙂

These were ordinary men. And yet, their faith allowed them to subdue kingdoms. Through faith, not their own strength, they subdued kingdoms! 🙂 Wow!

They wrought righteousness. Sometimes, standing for right is tough. Yet, they stood for right. They did what was right through faith.

Their reward, they obtained promises that God had given them even when they did not get to see Christ come.

Lions mouths were stopped through their faith. Ummm… that is incredible.

I have good news for you. Faith is the victory. The same Jesus, the same God, the same Holy Spirit of old is the same God, the same Jesus, the same Holy Spirit that we have today. We can also have this kind of faith that brings victory and moves mountains.
