We have been looking at Ephesians 2:1-10. Today, we look at verses 8-10.
“8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
These verses are likely familiar to each of you, at least verses 8-9. We are saved by grace through faith as a gift of God. It is not because of something we have done. Our works are not a part of it as someone would boast if they were. This is amazing. What a gift!
But, we can’t leave out verse 10. This verse is amazing! We are His workmanship. He created us. I know we hear this a lot, but think about it. We are His workmanship! And, He created us with a purpose in Christ Jesus. He created us unto good works and ordained us to walk in them.
Do you see that it doesn’t say that only the strong are created for good works? We are created as His workmanship in Christ Jesus unto good works. We should walk in them.
I don’t know about you, but these verses encourage my heart!
