Saturday Scripture

Today’s Saturday Scripture is actually something a dear friend shared yesterday as God spoke to her heart. This dear friend knows both sides of the equation, care-giving and chronic illness. (Shared with permission.)

“Listening to audio Bible this morning. Came to I Cor 12 about members of the body and I just heard it differently this morning, I love how God does that!

’22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: (Or as ESV puts it – indispensable. Wow!) 23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:’

We feeble folk have a purpose in the body of Christ!! And I can see this from both sides as I kind of go back and forth between the two worlds. When I am not well it does not mean I am useless, it can help some to learn to care for others. It may not be what I would have chosen, but God can still use me. When I am well I can focus on honoring the weaker ones. Honor?? Seriously? Wow! Never noticed that before!”
