Daily Dose of Encouragement: Romans 10:13-15

Originally, I had a different verse picked out to encourage us today. However, I was listening to the videos at the bottom of this blog when something hit me.

Romans 10:13-15, “13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

I can hear your confusion. How is that a dose of encouragement for the disabled?

You see, the videos below tell how a dear teenager saw disaster as a way for God to use her to tell others of Him while in intense rehab. (Yes, the two part story is long, but please take time to listen. I promise you will be blessed!)

It made me think. How will the medical staff, patients, and family members hear of Him if they have no one who goes to tell them? Is God calling us to tell of Him through the disability? I mean, how else do you get into these places to show them Jesus? Are we the ones that God wants to use so that they can hear and believe? God uses our weakness!

1 Corinthians 1:27-31, “27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”

If we didn’t have the disability or illness or whatever, we would not be able to tell them so that they can believe and God will be glorified. Wow. That truly made me stop and think. It encouraged my heart as I, like you, often do not want to be in these places. God has other plans.
