Celebrating Jesus: Image of the Invisible God

I remember the night as if it were yesterday. I must have been five or six years old as I looked up into the night sky as I waited for my parents after church. Whatever Dad had preached that night made me want to see God.

I asked God to be able to see Him for just a moment, just a glimpse. All I saw was a beautiful black sky with stars twinkling.

Good news. Jesus is the image of the invisible God. Look at these Scriptures.

2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Colossians 1:15, “15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”

Hebrews 1:3, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:”

I find it amazing that God has given us such a wonderful image of Himself. Wow. It even amazes me more that He loves us and wants to spend time with us! Wow.
