Gratefulness: What are you thankful for today?
Today, I am thankful for the ability to livestream and participate in church via FaceTime, Zoom, TEAMS, or whatever platform. While we do need to be as active as we can in church even if it looks different than before, it is such a blessing for those of us who cannot attend in person for a variety of reasons.
Daring Devotion Thoughts from Day 20: Eric Liddell. I first heard of him through the movie Chariots of Fire which tells of his experience in the Olympics. He put God first by refusing to run on Sunday in the event he was best in, instead running in the 440. He broke both world and Olympic records.
Yet, did you know he was also a missionary to China who became a prisoner in a Japanese internment camp? Even in the internment camp, he put God first and served the others that were there. He was dedicated to God, putting Him first no matter what. God used this dedication to bring many to Himself. Just think that this same God of Liddell is the same God we have. How will He be glorified as we put Him first? We may not know until eternity!
