Grateful November, Day 18

Gratefulness: What are you thankful for today?

Today, I am thankful for Scriptures. People have given their lives for us to be able to read His Word. People in other countries even today are willing to give their lives to read Scripture. It is a privilege!

Daring Devotion Thoughts from Day 18: Until I read this book, I had not heard of missionary Stanley Dale. He went as a missionary amongst the cannibals who attacked him. He survived and continued his mission to tell them about Jesus.

He believed Matthew 16:18, “18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” God would build His Church.

Dale went boldly into places that others would not tread. God prevailed. Dale then watched God work and change hearts.

It was a great reminder to me that God is an amazing God!

This article reminds us to be grateful for the Scriptures and the sacrifices made for us to have access to them. It’s inspiring to hear about missionaries like Stanley Dale who fearlessly spread the message of Jesus, even in dangerous situations. Truly, God is incredible!
