Gratefulness: What are you thankful for today?

Today, I am thankful for light. Life would be very dull without it. Mostly, I am thankful for the Light of the world. (John 8:12)

Daring Devotion Thoughts from Day 12: Elisabeth Elliot has long been one of my heroes of the faith. I remember my mom telling me about her when I was just a young girl. She endured much as the wife of Jim Elliot, martyr for God. After his death, she remained on the mission field with her young daughter, ministering to the very group of people who murdered her husband.

Through it all, she relied on God and found Him sufficient. She trusted Him and took Him at His Word. She definitely is an example to us all.

Psalm 91:1-2 “91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
