Philippians: Joy in the Midst 2

Our November study is based off of Philippians: Joy in the Midst, by Carrie Gaul.

Today, as you read Philippians, think about the people, the Philippians. We see what Paul is writing to them. What does that tell you about them?

You can find more information about them in Acts 16. Who was their first convert to Christianity in Philippi? Isn’t it amazing how God builds His church?

After this exciting time, Paul underwent persecution for preaching the gospel. Paul is imprisoned as he writes Philippians. His response is amazing. He responds with joy. Go through Philippians and mark all the references to joy, rejoicing, mind, or attitude.

Jesus never promised us an easy life. Paul’s life was anything but easy. Yet, look what Jesus did promise us in John 15:11, “11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”
