Recently I have been thinking about the various “One Anothers” in the Bible.
The most important one is to love one another.
John 13:34: “34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
We are to love one another as Christ loved us. This is a special kind of love. As we do that, the other “one anothers” come into play.
Look at a few of the other “one anothers”:
- Be kindly affectioned one to another. Romans 12:10.
- Build up one another. Romans 14:19, 1 Thessalonians 5:11
- Care for one another. 1 Corinthians 12:25
- Consider others better than yourselves. Philippians 2:3
The list goes on and on. As I have thought about these this week, I have wondered how they apply to us as isolated. You see, it is easy to get in the habit of thinking that the commands in the Bible are not for us since we are disabled, but His Word is still for us.
Looking over the list, there are so many ways that we can carry out the one anothers. God has a purpose for us to serve as well. We are important to His body, the Church!
What do you think? How can you carry out the one anothers?
