Psalm 107 is a great Psalm. This week, verses 28-30 were appropriate here in Michigan as we had unexpected storms.
“28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. 29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. 30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. 31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”
The storm brought back memories of Hurricane Ivan years ago in Pensacola when these verses first meant so much. A family had taken me in. We were all huddled in the hallway listening to the storm rage around us. We began singing and reading Scripture by flashlight to cover the sounds of the storm. Whew! God brought us through then. He will bring us through now!
This morning when the power was out and looks to be out for a significant time. I was reminded by these verses to praise anyway. God is still praise-worthy! He is still good!
