My Thankful Thursday today is based on Psalm 103:13-14:
“13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. 14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.”
Monday this week was a stretching day, a growing day, with many unexpected twists and turns and much activity after a busy weekend. I was a bit overwhelmed with it all and leaning on our Father. My strength did not seem sufficient for the task ahead.
Driving to the other side of the state that afternoon, the above verses and a memory came to mind. My own father in his last days of battling cancer was very weak. Yet, when he knew I was the one who was helping him, he pushed a bit harder to take some of the strain off of me. He knew my weakness. He knew how much I loved him. He loved me.
Monday, I saw God acting as my Father throughout the day. Every place I went through this day, it was evident that He had gone before me. God knew exactly how much His child could handle. He knew my weakness and limitations and was obviously going before me. My heart warmed and my eyes grew moist at this realization and wonderful love.
I am thankful for our amazing Father who loves and cares for us!
What are you thankful for today?
