Ephesians 5:8-10, (KJV): “8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.”
Here again we see that we used to be darkness, but are now light. Dark, light. Day, night. Complete change. Because of this complete change, we are to walk differently. We are to walk as children of light.
What will the outcome of walking as children of light be? Goodness, righteousness, and truth. It sounds like the fruit of the Spirit: “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” (KJV)
Walking as children of light and producing that fruit has an amazing outcome. We will be “proving what is acceptable” to God. We will be showing what is well-pleasing to our God.
It is important for us to walk in the light, to produce the fruit of the Spirit, and to show what is well-pleasing to our God.
We are ambassadors for Christ. How will this change our behavior and perspective as we go through our day? (Remembering, of course, that we can only live this way through His power in us and through us!) I know it will change my day!
This reel demonstrates our passage today.
