Ephesians 4:22-32, pt 3

We continue to walk through Ephesians 4:22-32. It is exciting and challenging to me to walk through the practical aspects of living this new life in Christ.

The end of verse 24 speaks of righteousness and true holiness. Verse 25 carries on this theme of truth. Notice that it presumes we have put away lying in this new life. We have cast off any type of deceit.

Now, we speak truth with our neighbor. We should be honest people with our neighbors. But, who is our neighbor? Jesus told a wonderful parable of the Good Samaritan to show us who our neighbor is in Luke 10:29-37. Our neighbors are all around us in the people we meet.

Why? Why should we speak well to our neighbors? The end of verse 25 tells us. We are members of one another. We are connected.

We are looking at one simple verse today, but there is much to unpack in it. As we walk in this new life, we must be honest, truthful people. Our life has changed.

Tomorrow, Lord-willing, we will look at verses 26-27. See you then!
