Today, I want to look at a Scripture that shows what God does with our suffering.
10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Do you see that, God knows! He knows our path. He will use even the trials to help us come through as gold, refined, purified, better. I have heard that they must monitor closely as they refine gold. God is not distant in our suffering. He is near. He watches closely and walks with us. There is a great article about it by David Platt, entitled Purified by the Fire.
A hero of the faith I had growing up was Ron Hamilton. God used the loss of his eye to cancer as a foundation for ministry. Recently, this saint went home to be with the Lord he served. His song “Rejoice in the Lord” was a blessing to me as I struggled with disability.
Are you in the refining process? God is there. He is using even the bad for good.
