Right now, I am facing a situation for which I can do nothing. I must admit that I am struggling to wait patiently. I want it resolved. This morning, Psalm 46:10 was on my heart when I awoke.
Be Still: Rest. Stop fighting. Be still. Just rely on Him. He can do it.
And Know: Be confident in this. Know this, not just in your head, but in your heart. Know it. Cling to it. Depend on it.
That I AM God: Throughout Scripture, God is the great I am. Jesus also used the term “I am…” Look at those statements in the links. God is above all, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent!
Look at those promises just in those eight words. Those in alone will help our hearts be content and peaceful.
But wait, there is more. The verse continues: “I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” There is a greater purpose here. God will use the situation to be exalted among those who do not believe, to be exalted among the whole earth.
Wow.
As I read and contemplated this, I realized once again that God has a greater purpose. I need to simply be still and know that He is God.
I don’t know what you are facing today, but suspect many of you are also facing situations that seem impossible, uncomfortable, and never-ending. Let’s focus on Psalm 46:10 today!
