Blessings upon blessings. We have been looking at Ephesians 1 and seeing the many, many blessings that God has given us. The truly amazing thing is that all of this is not dependent on our goodness or health or circumstances. It is dependent all relying on Him. He has chosen to give us all of these blessings!
Now, in verses 11-12, we see another blessing! God is giving us an inheritance in Him! Can you imagine? We have an inheritance from the King of kings and Lord of lords! My mind cannot even wrap itself around what that will be like.
Verse 11 also tells us that things are worked out to the purpose of His will. This brings me hope. Some days, it seems that everything goes wrong and that evil triumphs, but God is working it out to the purpose of His will!
Why is He doing all of this? Verse 12 tells us that it so that we (those who trust in our Messiah) may bring praise to His glory. Just think of that… even those of us who are isolated can bring praise to His glory!
We are only a few verse into Ephesians and have already seen so many blessings. What really strikes me over and over (if you couldn’t tell) is the amazing truth that it is not dependent on us, but on Him! It is easy for those of us who are isolated to feel less than and unworthy. Yet, we are not. These promises and blessings are meant for us! Amen!
