Daily Dose of Encouragement: Gratefuls – 22

Today, I am grateful for my parents. My father was a pastor. Yes, I am a dreaded “Preacher’s Kid.” My mom served faithfully beside him in the church. They both taught us to put God first in everything, to love God and to love people. They taught us to serve cheerfully and faithfully to the end to glorify God.

They taught me how to handle both joys and sorrows. As I’ve grown older, I have thought more about all they went through with a disabled child and how they simply took it in stride and soldiered on. I do not take this heritage for granted and praise God for them.

This “grateful” reminded me of this verse. It also reminded me that not everyone can say that they have a goodly heritage. I feel for you. The good news is that we can still pass on a good, godly heritage to those who come after us.

Psalm 16:6

“6  The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places;
Yea, I have a goodly heritage.”

What is your “grateful” today?
